Learning Disability Devon Designed by people with a learning disability for people with a learning disability

The Safe Places Scheme

  • Safe places  help people with learning disabilities when they don’t feel safe when they are out the community.

  • People may not feel safe when they are out in the community because they feel they are being bullied, abused, or have missed their bus home.

  • Safe Places give people a place to go if they do not feel safe.

  • Safe places can be shops, leisure centres, libraries, or any place that has a Safe Place sticker in the window.

  • The picture on the left  is what a Safe Place sticker looks like.

  • When you go in to the safe place you can show a member of staff  your “I need help card”

  • I need help cards let staff know that you need help and who they should contact.

  • If you would like more information about the Safe Places Scheme or to ask for a I need help card you should contact Devon Link-up.

  • You can telephone Devon Link-up  on 07808053992.
